Speaking & Workshops
Schools & Educators
As a former teacher, I know how hard teachers work to fulfill the expectations of state or private school curriculum—including expository, analytical, and persuasive writing skills.
This can sometimes mean students don’t get as much practice understanding how and when to access their voice and creativity. Come time for high school or college admissions essays, the need for voice-driven creative writing can create a bottleneck.
I offer workshops for small cohorts of students or for broader parent audience with the following aims:
To alleviate pressure on schools, educators, parents, and students.
To demystify the admissions essay writing process.
To supplement standard classroom writing practices by emphasizing voice-driven and creative writing for young people.
To provide a multiphase strategy I call the Messy Model, through which students can access and express their voice and creativity.

Business Professionals
In professional environments, the pressure of deadlines and a quick turnaround can create a deer-in-headlights effect for writers, or else a final product that falls short of professional standards.
I’ve helped working professionals (including at AT&T; law partners at private firms; lobbyists in Washington, D.C.; and more) transform their relationship to writing; grow as storytellers; expand their skillset; and shift their understanding of how to access and express voice.
My workshops and talks for professionals focus on:
Helping companies and working individuals tell their story with confidence, emotional impact, and creativity.
Effective strategies for writers to take their work from draft to outstanding, polished final product—even under tight deadlines.
Ways to access a unique, authentic voice that invites connection with colleagues, clients, and customers.
