A limited summer-only program for rising 6th-9th grade students ready to transform from stressed to confident writers. In 10 one-hour summer sessions, students will:

  • learn how to get unstuck when faced with a prompt

  • tell powerful stories in their own unique voice

  • build CONFIDENCE as writers

  • trade traditional outlines for WWB’s more powerful Messy Model

  • gain critical writing skills through revision—not rote exercises

Writing for Your Future Self

For students age ~10-16 who are ready to:

  • prepare for future admissions essays—whether high school or college!

Pen to Power: Level Up for High School

Inspired by Ashleigh’s 8th grade admissions essay students, Pen to Power includes 10 online coaching sessions for rising 9th or 10th graders ready to:

  • level up their writing skills for difficult high school classes

  • understand strategies for answering challenging prompts

  • get out of stuck mode so ideas can flow

  • expand on their ideas with meaning, not fluff

  • better understand basic essay structure and ways to create it—without feeling overwhelmed

Get Going Program: NYC

Get Going students achieve entry into competitive NYC high schools, including Hackley, Beacon, Avenues of the World, Spence, LREI, Poly Prep, St. Ann’s, Dwight Englewood, Columbia Prep, Fieldston, Trinity, Berkeley Carroll, Grace Church, Riverdale, & more—with essays that are all their own.

This is not your run-of-the-mill admissions essay tutoring, where your kid’s essay gets edited to death or shoved into a one-size-fits-all model.

Over 6 private coaching sessions, 8th graders applying to NYC and Brooklyn high schools:

  • Learn WWB’s unique, accessible Messy Model—brainstorming, revising, and polishing an essay, soup to nuts, in their own authentic voice

  • Gain strategies for helping ideas flow—and organizing those ideas

  • Build long-lasting confidence as young writers
